“We begin today’s bulletin with news on the trailer of M Night Shyamalan’s next ‘Knock at the Cabin’. The trailer is out and it appears to be an intense thriller. It introduces us to a family on a vacation at a secluded cabin in the woods. Four strangers take them hostage and ask them to make a choice that can avert the apocalypse.

The trailer has Jonathan Groff and Ben Aldridge playing a couple, and Dave Bautista plays the leader of the group that takes them hostage. Knock at the Cabin also stars Nikki Amuka-Bird, Kristen Cui, Abby Quinn and Rupert Grint in significant roles.

“In some thrilling news, Director David O. Russell got his starry cast involved in the creation of his new crime drama Amsterdam. The five-time Oscar nominee reunited with Christian Bale to develop the movie.
Bale told Reuters at the film’s European premiere in London on Wednesday, “He had no script. He just had a couple of ideas. Over years and years, came up with this story,”
Similarly, Bale’s co-star Margot Robbie was invited to help bring her character to life.
Elements of the film are inspired by real historical events and people, including a fascist coup attempt against US President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Amsterdam begins its global theatrical rollout on October 6.

“Meanwhile, Star Wars: The Last Jedi actor Kelly Marie Tran is set to star in and produce a biopic on her friend and civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen.

According to the entertainment website The Hollywood Reporter, Tran is developing the film, alongside Significant Productions and Madica Productions.

The untitled movie will see Nguyen’s transformation from a survivor of college sexual assault to an activist for survivors’ rights, including penning a Survivors’ Bill of Rights which inspired the federal law passed in 2016 and founding the civil rights accelerator Rise.
Nguyen said she is “deeply grateful” to Tran and the production banners for telling not only her story but also the story of billions of survivors across the world.”
“Moving on, Purple Hearts actor Nicholas Galitzine is set to star opposite Anne Hathaway in the Amazon Original movie The Idea of You. The film follows Hathaway’s character, a divorced mother who sparks a passionate love affair with a pop star she meets after taking her daughter to a music festival.

The British actor will essay the role of Hathaway’s love interest in the movie. The Idea of You will be directed by Michael Showalter. Jennifer Westfeldt has penned the script and will also executive produce. Oscar winner Cathy Shulman is producing the movie via her Welle Entertainment, along with Gabrielle Union, Hathaway, Lee, Eric Hayes and Jordana Mollick.

“In other news, Actor Jada Pinkett Smith recently celebrated her 51st birthday, surrounded by her friends and family. On Tuesday, she shared a video of the celebrations on Instagram, and captioned the post, “I’m so grateful for all the birthday love yesterday. Thank you.”

The video shows a small gathering of people, all of whom are singing the birthday song for Jada. She’s wearing a pink sweater and a cap. Her husband, the actor Will Smith, stood on her side, while their son Jaden stood behind her as she walked towards her birthday cake and blew out the candles. Smith sang the loudest and declared that ‘gratitude’ is the ‘highest virtue’ after his wife said that she was grateful for the life she has.

“In some significant news, Hollywood actress and UN humanitarian Angelina Jolie made a surprise visit to one of the worst flood-hit areas in southern Pakistan on Tuesday, officials said, as the death toll from months-long deluges rose to 1,559.

TV footage showed Jolie arriving at an airport in Karachi, the capital of southern Sindh province, where floods since mid-June have killed 692 people, damaged hundreds of thousands of homes and left half a million people homeless. Later, she visited some of the flood-affected areas, according to local media.

According to the IRC, Jolie is visiting Pakistan to support communities affected by the devastating floods. Currently, doctors are trying to contain the outbreak of waterborne diseases among flood survivors.”
“Next up, actor Sam Worthington says he was sceptical about surrendering to director James Cameron‘s vision of Avatar, which would rely heavily on the motion capture technology to create characters in the 2009 epic sci-fi film.

Besides being a social commentary on the environment, the film also introduced cinephiles to unforgettable visuals through special effects. It also starred Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang and Michelle Rodriguez.
Cameron had described the motion capture technology as “the next level of makeup”, recalled Worthington. He added, “Jim always made us that promise that even though you’re going to be big and blue, it’s you. And, you know, it was us. Every pore, every detail. Whatever got translated, it kept that essence”.”
“We end this bulletin with news on filmmaker Woody Allen. A representative for Allen has denied reports that the embattled filmmaker is retiring after an article in a Spanish newspaper quoted him as saying that his current movie Wasp 22 will be his swan song.

Ahead of the filming of the new project in Paris, the 86-year-old filmmaker had spoken to the Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia. The daily had quoted him as saying: “My idea, in principle, is not to make more movies and focus on writing.” In the statement shared with entertainment outlet Variety, Allen’s representative said the director currently has “no intention of retiring”.”
