MANISTEE — The former Easy Wash Laundromat at 156 Washington St. in Manistee is expected to be rehabbed into an apartment complex.

Jermaine Sullivan, of Dwelling Realty, said via email that “the building is going to be rehabbed into apartments with green space/courtyard in the parking lot.” Sullivan, who is also the mayor pro-tem for the city of Manistee, was the real estate agent who sold the property.

Sullivan also stated that the property sold for $142,000 but said she does not have site plans or any other detailed information about long-term plans.

Marc Miller, Manistee Area Chamber of Commerce’s economic development director, previously told the News Advocate that the building was listed for sale. The former property owner was listed as Hickory LLC.

Miller had said the building “would be a development opportunity for an interested buyer.”

The information on who purchased the property was not available.
